Photographing people and pets just being themselves has been the backbone of what we do at FocusTree Photography since our inception. From amusement parks to city parks, from living rooms to school libraries, we love to photograph those candid moments of life in action.
We prefer to photograph our subjects using available daylight, however, some situations just beg for the comfort of a home with all its unique textures and familiar props. No matter where we photograph you or your family, we want to make sure your photos reflect who you are.
Many of our portrait packages include 5x7 and 8x10 prints, a secure website gallery, 1 to 3 hours of time, and wardrobe/location changes. Depending on the package your purchase, a CD of your high-resolution photos will also be included. We offer a large variety of high-quality print products, including canvas prints, coffee-table books, holiday cards, framed prints, etc. We've worked in the creative-arts field for nearly 20 years, and we design all of our products in-house. THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
FAMILY PORTRAITS
What should we wear? Well, that really depends on the family members. Some families prefer to dress similarly (solid color shirts with blue jeans or khakis), while some families prefer to mix-n-match complimentary color-tones. We think complimentary color-tones work well if you'd like to highlight specific groups of family members (in-laws, grandkids, generations, etc). In any case, it is best to stay with solid colors instead of patterns. Solid colors allow the viewer to easily focus on your faces without being distracted by clothing patterns.
Most importantly, think of the style of portrait you'd like to have and choose your clothing accordingly. We'll bring the necessary lighting equipment to photograph you within your home, outdoors, or in the studio.

PET PORTRAITS
Like you, we feel that pets are important members of our families. We photograph pets in-home, in-studio, or outside. We love capturing a pet's personality, traits, and playfulness, so we provide 2-hr, 1/2 day, and full-day sessions.
As with all of our portraits, we prefer outdoor portrait using available daylight. This is especially great for animals that may be uncomfortable with camera flashes.
If we're photographing your pet(s) inside your home, be sure to prepare the room so that any distracting objects will not be in the photos. Once we arrive at your location, we're happy to walk around and identify great photo areas and props within your home.
Depending on your pet, we may want to spend the first 10-15 minutes getting acquanited with your pet so that he/she feels comfortable with us and our equipment.

SELF PORTRAITS
Are you an experienced model looking to update your model portfolio? Perhaps your organization needs professional and consistent headshots for an RFP or website? Whatever the reason, give us a call and let's discuss your photo needs. Many of our clients are business executives, attorneys, university professors, financial advisors, and small
business owners.
Executive portraits can be scheduled per person or by the hour for discounted group rates. We can photograph you at your place of business or in our studio. We have portable backgrounds and appropriate lighting equipment to help you and your colleagues look your best.
Models, your portfolio should contain 12-20 photos (for women)/6-12 photos (for men) based on the type of work you're targeting (editorial print, runway, commercial, nude, specialty, etc). We'll provide you with plenty of photos to choose from for your portfolio. Make-up artist and hair stylist are available at additional cost.

MATERNITY PORTRAITS
Why should I do maternity photos? Many women are proud of their pregnant bodies and want to have beautiful photos to cherish this wonderful moment of their lives. Your maternity photos can be done fully-clothed, partially-clothed, or semi-nude in the comfort of your home or in our studio.
What should I wear? During our maternity photo session, we'll photograph you in a variety of outfits. I'd recommend solid-color tops (anything you can slide up, or open around your belly); oversized, button-up shirt; maternity jeans; white or black sports bra and yoga pants; long-sleeve shirt; or tops with spaghetti-straps. Avoid colors like yellow or pink, or tight clothing that might leave marks on your body.
Don't forget to invite your partner, kids, and pets to the photoshoot. Baby props are always welcome.
Maternity photos are usually done between 32 and 36 weeks, but we'll photograph you whenever you're ready. Upon request, we can touch-up your belly's marks and blemishes.

CHILDREN PORTRAITS
Try to schedule your child's portrait session during a time of day that works best for him or her. It's also a good idea to bring your child's favorite toys, books, snacks, and drink.
For clothing, they can wear whatever they like (costumes, boots, PJ's, etc), plus a couple outfits that you prefer to see them photographed in.
Newborns are best photographed 0-10 days after birth. The earlier the better. Be sure to feed and burp your baby prior to our session. This will allow him/her to sleep more soundly. A space heater and/or baby noise machine will also help him/her sleep through the posing.

SENIORS PORTRAITS
Wear what you love to wear. Bring a few outfits to change into, and we'll get a great range of photos reflecting your style. We encourage you to bring props, such as a favorite article of clothing, hat, musical instrument and sports equipment. We'll visit a number of locations and have a very fun and casual session.
If you have photo specifications from your school, let us know and we'll send them the photo of your choice cropped and sized to their requirements.
